Triathlon & Quadrathlon Training

triathlon and quadrathlon finishTraining to participate in a triathlon, or quadrathlon, is hard work. Building the strength and endurance to compete takes dedication and plenty of practice. And one of the most challenging aspects of building your endurance and strength is developing your "core." For those of you new to the term, a person's core is comprised of all the muscles that stabilize your spine and pelvis. Many experts believe this is the most crucial muscle group in the body, and training it requires specific targeted activities.

Swimming, running, cycling and kayaking (the fourth event in a quadrathlon) all require a well-developed core. But often times, simply training with those specific activities aren't enough to take your body to the next level. That’s where stand up paddling comes in.

By harnessing your body’s natural power of balance, and utilizing leg, ab, back, and arm strength to propel yourself forward, stand up paddling trains the muscles in your body that are responsible for maintaining a strong core. The faster and more intensely you paddle, the greater the benefit to your core development. And it’s a welcome change to the repetition of your standard training regimen.

So give SUPNTX a call, and try a board out for an hour or two. With convenient rental locations and rates, and very competitive boards sale pricing, we’re certain stand up paddling will be a part of your training routine.
